What made you decide to accept the invitation to join Sister Snog in August 2012?
(Head, heart, gut instinct or a combination)

Joining Sister Snog was a decision made by the heart but driven completely by gut instinct. I was drawn to the brand and its refreshing creative madness. Then I met Hela. I knew I had to join after being invited. I knew I’d love it. And I do!

How has your business blossomed as a result of being a Sister?

I’ve collaborated with Sisters, outsourced to other Sisters and had the most amazing support from Sisters. Yes I’ve had business. I’m currently working on a re-brand and new website for a Sister. My lips are sealed though, as it’s still cooking. But I can reveal we created a wonderful website for Lisa Conway-Hughes aka Miss Lolly. We knew her brand inside-out because of the time we’d spent with each other at Sister Snog.

What’s your most memorable Sister Snog moment to date?

One of the most magical things about Sister Snog is that it’s a gateway to other amazing events and venues. I was invited to a private reading of a play written by John Steele, which he wrote and starred in with his wife Natalie Haverstock aka Miss Ballooniverse. Another memorable occasion which lingers in my mind is when I had a client meeting at Brigade on Tooley Street. That’s where Sister Snog holds the First Friday Lunch so I’m no stranger. When I arrived for a very important meeting I was given the VIP treatment. With bells on. All thanks to being a member of Sister Snog. I felt special. My client was impressed. Brigade pulled out the stops.

What do you think makes Sister Snog stand out from the crowd?

The members. Sister Snog is selective. And discerning. Every single member is effectively hand-picked. Only those who are like-minded are invited to join. No ‘duds’ allowed. The beauty is everyone gels so there’s collaboration rather than rivalry between members in similar sectors. Sister Snog is all killer and no filler. In my opinion that’s what really makes it stand out from the crowd.

Which is your favourite event and why?

Every Sister Snog event has a different flavour. Brainstorming Breakfasts are always informative. With nuggets of social media insights that we get from each other about our social media activity. Every breakfast has a different focus. I like that. And they’re a great opportunity to hook up with a Sister after. One-to-one’s are essential to build bridges and get to know other members. First Friday Lunches have a element of fun and style. Which is what makes First Friday rather unique when it comes to ‘that dirty word networking. This really is business-with-a-bow. I’m a regular and I always find I find little nuggets of information and surprising insights about Sisters as we move around after each course. That’s why the first Friday of the month is always marked ‘not available’ in my calender.

What do you love about Sister Snog?

I love Sister Snog for the characters it attracts. They’re strong women with strong personalities. There really isn’t anyone I wouldn’t interact with. It’s rather unusual to be in a room full of women who are empowered to make decisions about the direction of their brand and are not playing at running a business. That’s the kind of company I like to keep.

Sum up Sister Snog in one word : BONKERS (but I love it)
