Sister Snog loves : A fashionable triumvirate of tribes

A hot date with fashion at Somerset House
Home of The British Fashion Council is one of the most magnificent buildings in London. The eternally elegant Somerset House. A spectacular neo-classical building in the heart of London, that nestles rather majestically between between Lady Strand and Master Thames. Blazing staircases. Beautiful corridors. An amazing courtyard. Where 55 fountains dance in the summer months. Where skaters skate in the winter. And where fashion’s finest hobnob in the spring-&-autumn.  Twice a year, in February & September, designers, fashionistas, journos, editors of the glossies-mags-&-rags, bloggers-&-paps all make a bee-line for @SomersetHouse for an extravanganza of style.

A week of non-stop-style
The week kicks off with fashion royalty and an It-Gang-of-A-Listers at London Fashion Week. Then the doors are flung open to the public for a non-stop-full-on fashion fix. As a visitor you get a taste of the trends that are about to hit the High Street, a chance to shop the designer brands so you add a touch of catwalk couture to your wardrobe. It’s become a highlight for Sister Snog and the Sisters. Roll on September!

Sister Snog loves : Falling in love with a lovemark

The heart of a lovemark
Described by Tom Peters in his usual eloquent manner:
“Ideas move mountains, especially in turbulent times. Lovemarks is the product of the fertile-iconoclast mind of Kevin Roberts, CEO Worldwide of Saatchi & Saatchi. Roberts argues vociferously, and with a ton of data to support him, that traditional branding practices have become stultified. What’s needed are customer love affairs. Roberts lays out his grand scheme for mystery, magic, sensuality and the like in his gloriously designed book Lovemarks. Just bloody brilliant.”
Lovemarks are the future beyond brands. They deliver beyond your expectations of great performance. Lovemarks reach your heart as well as your mind, creating an intimate, emotional connection that you just can’t live without.

Signed with a smiley
In 2005, when Sister Snog was still in its infancy, Lovemarks hit the bookshelves. And a copy, signed by Mr Roberts himself with his signature smiley, found it’s way into the library at #snogtowers. It’s been read numerous times but still remains pristine. Some books are meant to be dog-eared with paragraphs highlighted and margins scribbled in. Some on the other hand are meant handled with care because they’ve got a manicured lawn quality about them.

The future beyond brands
Lovemarks became Sister Snog’s strategic brand bible. And one of Sister Snog’s BHAG’s was, and continues to be, to make it into the hall of fame and become a lovemark that successful business women fall head-over-heels in love with because they are drawn to Sister Snog’s ethos, culture, values and business etiquette and want to belong to a remarkable club that acts like a tribe, thinks like a brand and is creating its own path. To find out more about the architecture of a [...]
